Meet the author
D.R.'s first Wedding DJ appearance was on January 14, 1977. Now 2,000+ weddings later, he has put into words what he has witnessed as a Wedding DJ for over four decades with the children's book The Best Wedding Ever.
D.R. became a radio disc jockey in August of 1975 on college radio station WMPG in Gorham, Maine. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from USM in Leadership and Organizational Studies. He was also a radio disc jockey on WBLM, WJBQ, WMGX, WKXA, WIGY, WABK, WPNO, WCOU and WJTO.
D.R. lives in Gorham, Maine with his wife Kim and the two of them are world travelers, having been to the Pyramids of Egypt, walked The Great Wall of China, hiked into an inactive volcano in Maui, zipped above the rainforest in Costa Rica as well as trips to London, Paris, Switzerland, Punta Cana, Jamaica, The Bahamas and the US Virgin Islands.
Meet the illustrator
In addition to creating art for children' books, Steve portfolio includes Pen & Ink and colored paintings of home and buildings, portraits, pet and equestrian art, scenic views, cartoons, caricatures and maps. While working in advertising and industrial design, he widened his expertise to include computer graphics.
He studied art and design while a theater major at Rutgers University, the University of Miami and Catholic University.
Steve is also a freelance writer, with more than 900 articles in newspapers, magazines and business publications. He also writes movie and theater scripts and short stories. He describes his travels in his book Rebel Without A Clue - A Way-OffBroadway Memoir.
He lives in Kennebunk with his wife Carol. They recently celebrated their 56th anniversary.
